Also during the month of November, four PhD students within CNDS will defend: Jon Olauson, Zeinab Jeddi, Adam Dingwell and Tito Maldonado.

Jon Olauson (Department of Engineering Sciences, Uppsala University) will defend his thesis on the 4 November at 9:15 in Polhemsalen, Ångströmlaboratoriet, Lägerhyddsvägen 1, Uppsala. The title of the thesis is Modelling Wind Power for Grid Integration Studies.

Zeinab Jeddi (Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University) will defend her thesis on the 10 November at 09:00 in Hambergsalen, Villavägen 16, Uppsala. The title of the thesis is Seismological Investigation of Katla Volcanic System (Iceland): 3D Velocity Structure and Overall Seismicity Pattern.

Adam Dingwell (Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University) will defend his thesis on the 17 November at 10:00 in Hambergsalen, Villavägen 16, Uppsala. The title of the thesis is Dispersion modelling of volcanic emissions.

Tito Maldonado (Department of Engineering Sciences, Uppsala University) will defend his thesis on the 25 November at 10:00 in Hambergsalen, Villavägen 16, Uppsala. The title of the thesis is Inter-annual variability of rainfall in Central America: Connection with global and regional climate modulators.
