CNDS at CTF Forum 2025, Campus Totalförsvar

On April 3rd and 4th, 2025, CNDS Director Steffi Burchardt took part in the 1st national conference organized by Campus Totalförsvar in Örebro.

Total defense (totalförsvar) describes the combined effort of civil and military actors to prepare Sweden for crises and war. Campus Totalförsvar is a government-funded initiative that brings together 36 Swedish universities with the aim to coordinate the academy’s efforts within total defense.

During the conference in Örebro participants from universities across Sweden discussed ways to mobilise the academic sector around 12 knowledge clusters.

Steffi Burchardt participated in the formational meetings of two of these clusters, “Sustainability, climate, energy and security” and “Media and communication during crises and war.”

CNDS is looking forward to contribute to CTF’s efforts to provide research, education, and innovation for a resilient society in times of crises.
