Most Downloaded Article in Geology Today for Valentin Troll and Frances Deegan
Valentin Troll and Frances Deegan, together with former MSc student Konstantinos Thomaidis and several colleagues from INGV (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia), the national Italian organisation operating the the Volcano Observatory at Etna, received an unexpected recognition in form of one of the most downloaded articles in Geology Today in the 12 months after publication. The article describes the ancient legends associated with Mt. Etna, discusses the threats the volcano poses, as well as the resources it provides. It also focuses on the special bond local people have forged with their volcano.
