Mantle source characteristics and magmatic processes during the 2021 La Palma eruption

CNDS Fellows, Valentin Troll and Frances Deegan (Uppsala University), have recently co-authored an article on the temporal changes in La Palma's volcano lava chemistry over the 3 months of highly destructive eruption from 2021.

A. Lava rivers of the 2021 eruption on La Palma inundated large stretches of fertile agricultural land and forced the evacuation of almost 8000 people. B. Several thousand houses and utility buildings were destroyed during the eruption, making the 2021 eruption of La Palma the most disastrous volcanic event of recorded history in the Canary Islands.
