Elisa Savelli, Faranak Tootoonchi and Maximilian Wanner are CNDS newest doctors

Elisa Savelli
Three more of the first CNDS supported PhD students have recently and successfully defended their theses.
Elisa Savelli (Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University) wrote her thesis on the topic "The production and distribution of drought risk in South Africa" and defended it in front of her opponent, Prof. Emily Boyd from Lund University, Sweden. Her work was supervised by CNDS Fellow, Maria Rusca (University of Manchester), CNDS Director, Giuliano Di Baldassarre and CNDS Fellow, Hannah Cloke (University of Reading & Uppsala University).
Faranak Tootoonchi
Faranak Tootoonchi (Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University) wrote her thesis on the topic "Reducing uncertainties in climate change impact studies through uni- and multivariate methods - a Nordic perspective". Her main supervisor is CNDS Fellow, Claudia Teutschbein (Uppsala University), together with three others, one of them being CNDS Fellow, Thomas Grabs (Uppsala University). The Chairman for the public defence was CNDS Director, Giuliano Di Baldassarre (Uppsala University).
Maximilian Wanner
Maximilian Wanner (Department of Government, Uppsala University) presented his thesis on the topic of "Change and Progress in Disaster Risk Reduction" and defended it in from of his opponent, Andreas Duit, Department of Political Science, Stockholm University. His work was supervised by CNDS Fellows, Daniel Nohrstedt and Charles Parker (Uppsala University).
